Size: City Plan - conceptually approved 0.5-acre dog park on a one-acre parcel.
Status: Final Dog Park Design approved by Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC; September, 2023); Due to lack of funds for entire neighborhood park, amenities were divided into phases. Phase 1 includes a sports field, playground and pickle ball. City projects city funding for the dog park will be approximately 8-10 years away.
Next step: Friends is pursuing alternatives with the hope that a fenced dog park can be built in the next couple of years with outside funding.
Construction start date: Unknown.
Proposed Amenities: Full perimeter fencing; interior fencing to create two separate areas for small dogs and large dogs; all-weather surfaces (mulch/wood chips); shading (built structures and trees); water stations; benches; tables; parking lot.
