Parks-4-Pups is an organization created to encourage San Luis Obispo County to provide areas in the North County for off-leash recreation for people and their dogs. In 2004, Parks-4-Pups became a project area of SLOPOST (San Luis Obispo Parks, Open Space and Trails Foundation) a 501c3, tax-exempt nonprofit corporation. In March 2005, Parks-4-Pups completed the construction of Heilmann Dog Park in Atascadero. In February 2009, we completed the construction of Vineyard Dog Park in Templeton. We are working on building a dog park in Paso Robles. Parks-4-Pups also organizes several community events including the Paso Robles Dog Jog, Dog Splash Days in Templeton, and the Dogtoberfest/Wiener Dog Races in Atascadero.
