Templeton Community Pool
Dogs can celebrate the end of summer at the 13th Annual Dog Splash Days at the Templeton Community Pool, September 7-8. This popular annual event attracts locals and tourists looking for a unique experience with their family dogs.
This year's swim schedule is Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Special swim sessions for small dogs (under 30 pounds), senior, or disabled dogs are scheduled for Saturday at 3 pm and Sunday at 10 am. Small and senior dogs are also welcome at all other swim sessions.
Early bird admission is $20 per dog per swim session through August 10 and thereafter $25 per dog through event day. Advance reservations for a swim time are recommended but not required. Please note that some sessions sell out before the event. Dogs with pre-paid reservations are admitted before walk-ins on a space available basis.
Paid reservations can be made using a credit card (see below). Optionally, reservations can be made by mail at PO Box 795, Paso Robles, CA 93447. Please include name, phone #, and desired date and time for swimming. Checks should be made payable to Dog Splash Days/SLOPOST.
Dogs must be 5 months or older and adult male dogs over 1 year old must be neutered. Paper or electronic proof of current rabies vaccination must be shown at the registration table prior to admission. Dogs displaying aggressive behavior are required to leave immediately with a refund.
Dogs only are allowed in the pool for the event. Local dog trainers and therapists volunteer as dog lifeguards to assist dogs in the water. Life vests and pool toys are provided for dogs.
The tot pool and the shallow end of the adult pool are open for dog swimming. Swim sessions are scheduled on the hour and limited to 20 dogs per session to ensure a quality and safe play time.
The Templeton Community Pool is located at 34 6th Street, adjacent to downtown Templeton Park.
Event sponsors include Las Tablas Animal Hospital, Lemos Feed and Pet Supply, Rabobank of Templeton, and County Supervisors John Peschong and Debbie Arnold.
Parks4Pups, a non-profit group, organizes the 2-day event with proceeds benefiting Vineyard Dog Park in Templeton.
