5th Annual Dogtoberfest and Wiener Dog Races

All of us at Heilmann Dog Park are very excited about partnering with our friends at Lemos Feed and Pet Supply to bring a classic Fall event to Atascadero Lake Park, including the always zany Wiener Dog Races.
This year’s race includes the popular new division for Wiener Wannabes (dogs of any breed under 25 pounds). First place finisher gets a special prize of a professional sitting fee and photograph with Jeanne Harris (value $200). Her photography is incredible and we encourage you to check it out.
The costume contest has prizes, gift certificates, and bragging rights for winners. See details below.
Directions: From the 101 Freeway, exit at Hwy 41 - Morro Road and go west on Hwy 41 - Morro Road 1.5 miles. Turn left into the parking lot for the Charles Paddock Zoo.
The event day schedule is as follows:
8:00 am Advance registration is $15 per dog racer. Race walk-in registration is $20 includes racer goodie bag
Race track will be available for practice runs from 8 to 10 am
10:00 am National Anthem
Parade of Champions
10:15 am Annual Wiener Dog Races - click here for race registration form, waiver, and rules
11:30 am Elks BBQ ($10 adult/$5 child) continues until 1:30 pm
Noon Race Finals and awards
1:15 pm Pet Costume Contest (free).
Open to all dogs
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes
2:30 pm Final Raffle Drawings
