Dogtoberfest and 10th Annual Wiener Dog Races

Saturday, October 9th  10 am—3 pm

Atascadero Lake Park (rain or shine)

All of us at Parks-4-Pups and Heilmann Dog Park are very excited about partnering with our friends at Lemos Feed and Pet Supply to bring a classic Fall event to  Atascadero Lake Park, including the always zany Wiener Dog Races.

This year’s race includes a popular new division for  for Wiener Wannabes (dogs of any breed under 25 pounds) and a Dog Talent Contest. The  costume and talent contest have prizes, gift certificates, and bragging rights for winners. See details below.

The event day schedule is as follows:

8:30 am          Race walk-in registration  $15 includes dog bandana and goodie bag
                      The race track will be available for practice runs to competitors

10:00 am         National Anthem sung by Genete Bowen and Greta
                      Parade of Champions

10:15 am         Wiener Dog Races

11:30 am         Elks BBQ ($10 adult/$5 child) continues until 2 pm

12:00 noon      Wannabee Races (dogs of any breed under 25 pounds)

12:30 pm         Race Finals and Awards

1 pm               Pet Costume Contest (free)
                      Dog TalentContest  (free)

2:30  pm         Final Raffle Drawings (raffles at 11:30, 1 pm, 2 pm)

Entrants for the Dog Talent Show and Pet Costume can sign up at the raffle table until 12 Noon on event day.

Categories for the Dog Talent Show(new this year) include:

• Best Trick (stage time limited to 2 minutes)
• Best Vocal Performance
• Best Tail Wagging
• Best Mirror Image (dog owner look-alike)
• Best of Show (chosen from winners of each category)

Categories for the Pet Costume Contest (open to all animals) include:

• Scariest
• Best Celebrity
• Most Glamorous
• Most Creative
• Judge’s Special Award
• Best of Show (chosen from winners of each category)
